While primarily personal use, it was still going to be the back-up Nav Computer.BUT, while we can still run RNS 6.1 on it, it is only in planning mode –you cannot get a direct interface with the plotter with Vista - despite earlier assurances way back from Raymarine that RNS 6.1 would be fully Vista compatible.We got around that by setting up dual Operating Systems - XP and Vista – on the laptop.The old laptop is sadly coming to the end of the road – too much rust on the casing, too many things need replacing. So sometime over the next couple of months, we’ll bite the bullet and buy a new one.Whatever we get will have Windows 7.Dows anyone know if RNS 6.1 is Windows 7 compatible?

I have RNS6.1 and the latest firmware on an earlier model E120. Everything does actually work despite Raymarine saying it won't. What Raymarine won't do, is support running with Vista; so, you do it at your own risk. The only issue I have is that the radar overlay is a light blue colour instead of the dark purple colour that it should be and the colour changing options don't work correctly.As an aside, it also works over a wireless connection, except the DSM sonar which only works over a hard-wired (CAT5) connection. Needless to say, I don't use a Raymarine switch; just my wireless ADSL router with built-in 4-port switch.
